A Quick Fix to a TIGHT GOWN

Points of Interest – The Machine Needle • The needle, while one of the smallest parts of the sewing machine is undoubtedly one of the most important factors in creating well-made garments and keeping your machine running smoothly.

Illusion Dressing • When most of us think of figure types we tend to think of full busts, thick waists and large hips, which are horizontal proportions (those that are taken with a tape measure) and whereas these are, and should be considerations, vertical proportions are as important, if not more important than the horizontal proportions. Vertical proportions are measured from the head to the bust, bust to the hip, hips to the knee and knee to the ›oor. They are important because these measurements relate to jacket length, belt width and waist styles, as well as other important details.

OH BOY! • BOY THE FABRICS AND PATTERNS MAY BE BORROWED FROM THE BOYS, BUT THE SHAPING AND ATTITUDE ARE DEFINITELY ALL-WOMAN.

Real Gems • What a brilliant idea … gleaming jewel tones of emerald, jade and amethyst light up all those winter greys.

HOT OFF THE PRESS • The news this season is a bold type of print … making their mark on sleek dresses, even when mixed with other prints. Contrast trims with a smooth leather-like gleam make those mixes even more newsworthy.

Floral Fantasy • Bring out your feminine side with these pretty floral fabrics from Sckafs. All 100% cotton makes them perfect for craft projects, or even blouses and sleepwear.

Jeans to Flatter & Fit • Denim jeans are the most versatile items of clothing in our wardrobes. They suit just about everyone and can be dressed up or down. Wear them with a silk shirt and a jacket and you’ll look smart. Wear them with a t-shirt and runners and you’ll look suitably casual.
