本书第一部分主要是 "季羡林与东方学"研讨会上发表的文章，第二部分则是学术论文，作者全部是北京大学东方学学科内的教师，既有已经年过耄耋的老教授，也有目前活跃在教学科研第一线的中年教师，还有毕业不是很久的年轻教员。他们分别就自己的教学研究领域中题目撰写了论文，同时发表在几个学术研讨会上，后来又经过修改，收入本书。这些论文，部分体现了北京大学东方学学科的一些特色。The first part of this book mainly includes the articles published on "Ji Xianlin and Orientalism" seminar, and the second part includes academic papers, the authors are all teachers who study orientalism in Peking University, among them there are old professors, middle-aged teachers active in first line of teaching and research, and young teachers who have graduated not long. They respectively wrote papers with respect to their own teaching and research fields, and published them on several seminars, and these papers, through modification, are included into this book. These papers partially reflect some features of orientalism discipline of Peking University.
