Gr 3-5-An awesome chapter book series filled with animal facts. Bugs! provides an overview of insects by describing body parts, life cycles, food sources, and habitats. The title introduces several different types of bug species with in-depth information about each one. The text is easy to read, and topic-specific vocabulary is often defined in parentheses. In addition to photos, drawings and diagrams help explain pertinent data. Snakes! follows the same format. Throughout both volumes, "In Your Newsfeed" sidebars discuss relevant current happenings. Overall, these selections are thorough but not overwhelming and can be read for pleasure or reports.
