The work Man Without Father is said to be created from Chekhov's university, which is less known. The script depicts the decline of a nobility estate, as well as the image of idle intellectuals passing the time gloomily and fretfully, which acts as the predecessor of "superfluous man" created by Chekhov in the late 20th century. Leota describes a family story centering on a strange-tempered and selfish professor, and successfully creates the image of "leota" who has special thoughts and is not understood by others, which is regarded as "beautiful dramatic middle story". Research community all recognizes that Leota is the predecessor of Uncle Vanya, an indispensable part for completely presenting Chekhov's dramas.)
