      Gr 1-3-Young readers will have a blast with second-grader Al� Tahir, his Pakistani family, and his school friends in this fun, Spanish-language chapter book series. Colorful illustrations and short, fast-paced chapters will have readers joining Al� in a paper airplane competition, a fun-filled field trip to the museum, a quick visit to the supermarket, and in celebrating Eid with loved ones. Al� and his friends have positive interactions and relationships in which they help one another. The title character also enjoys time with his loving family, including his sometimes-troublemaking little brother. The series is full of kid-friendly high jinks and relevant situations that will resonate with young readers. Each volume includes words for children to learn in Urdu, jokes, activities, and questions to think about. Fans of the "Yasmin" titles will love seeing her in this series as Al�'s classmate and friend. The bright, charming art will delight emerging readers.
