唐僧师徒取经途中，遇到一伙强盗打劫，悟空把强盗全都打死了。

唐僧气得连连念起紧箍咒，赶走悟空。

唐僧派八戒和沙僧出去化斋，有个悟空将唐僧打晕，抢走了行李。

沙僧上花果山找悟空讨要行李，没想到那悟空竟要自己上西天取经!

沙僧去找观音菩萨，才知道真悟空在菩萨这里。

真假悟空模样一样，本事也一样，真假难辨。观音、神仙们和唐僧都分不出真假。

最后，如来指出假悟空是六耳猕猴所变，将他打回原形。悟空将他一棒打死。

观音菩萨为悟空说情，悟空再次回到唐僧身边，师徒合意同心，继续西行。
