K-Gr 2-Young readers who are interested in nature and animals and researchers looking for an introduction to amphibians will find a great resource in this title. Each spread features a clear, one-sentence fact on the verso, accompanied by a realistic and close-up color illustration on the recto, which corresponds perfectly with the information. The text describes amphibian bodies, life cycles, diet, adaptations that allow them to evade predators and survive in different seasons, and communication. Each illustration is labeled. Following the text, additional information on the animals depicted in each illustration offers further insight. A glossary, recommended reading, and websites are included.
