      PreS-Gr 1-In each title a child imagines what it would be like to be a soccer referee, a mail carrier, a chef, or a nurse, always concluding that's what they would like to be when they grow up. The simple text is accompanied by cartoon illustrations that depict people of different ethnic backgrounds as friendly round-headed figures. The scenarios presented are kid-friendly and relatable; a young boy, whose sister is sick, daydreams about what it would be like to be a nurse. Each title concludes with a recap of a few of the new words encountered in the text. The Spanish translation is well done. VERDICT Will meet the needs of curricular units on community and larger libraries.
