This novel describes sharp conflicts between two generations the elderly Karamazov and his three sons in a real patricide case. Greedy and lecherous elderly Karamazov has all his wife's heritage to himself and fights for an amorous woman with his eldest son Dmitri. Since Dmitri is suspicious of his lover dating with his father, he breaks into his house and stones his father almost into death in a passion. After his hurry escape, Smerdyakov, the illegitimate son of elderly Karamazov, who pretends sickness and hides in the darkness, kills his father quietly, which causes a complicated and confusing murder shocks the whole Russia and triggers a series thrilling incidents. This work enters into a complicated tragic themes of social family, ethics and human nature and reflects the supreme artistic achievements of the author in his lifetime.）
